Christmas in June

Seriously-it feels like Christmas around here.  I found this cool picture on Joss & Main that I loved and had a $25 credit (Seriously Hammond-I did...)  and it arrived yesterday.   I have absolutely no idea where this bad boy is going to end up in the house, but somewhere fabulous!

Then today, my jeweler called and said my ring was ready.  (Which you may remember from this post)  I think my favorite part of it (besides its gorgeous) is that no one else in Charleston will have this ring.  I think it turned out really nice.  (Now I can't wait to get a pair of sapphires that I have set into earrings-HINT HINT HAMMOND) 

And finally tomorrow or Friday, Macy's will be delivering a pair of shoes I ordered. (What the hell is up with me? I swear I do not have a money tree in the backyard.  Come to think of it I have no trees in the backyard...)  Yes, it took me over a year to get a pair of patent, nude shoes.....I need another pair of shoes like I need a hole in my head....

So, HO HO HO-Merry Christmas....To ME! 

Dinner

Why do I love living on the coast? Because my husband can go off shore fishing and catch us dinner. There is nothing like fish straight out of the water and onto the grill. Thanks babe! Love me some dolphinfish for dinner. (and no jchokie-this is not flipper) xoxo

Today's wrap up

Today was a great day! Since I was MOD (manager on duty) at the hotel all weekend I took today off.

First my beloved car had to get her service done today so I was given this sweet little bitch of a ride. Can you scream "fun" any louder than this? (I begged Chad to let me buy this)

Then I went shopping for a dress for my mother in law with my future sister in law. I think we found her a dress which is great. I did find this fun little dress and had to try it on. Where I thought I'd wear it is beyond me. Something tells me this isn't work appropriate!

And my last stop was a jewelry store that I love. I'm trying to find a setting for this loose stone I have and I loved this setting  (Keep in mind this is wax and would be 14k white gold). That is my stone on top though. Doesn't that make for a pretty ring?  Now I just need to convince myself it is ok to spend money on me....

Cooking with gas..

As in literally.....Hammond finally wore me down after four years in this house and in a moment of weakness I said, "FINE GO BUY THAT FRIGGIN STOVE!"  He loves to cook and I can't complain (other than my expanding waistline-but maybe that's the gelato I seem to shovel in...)  He's an excellent chef and apparently food will taste better on a new gas stove...All I know that after what we spent on a hood and stove, he better be making me breakfast, lunch and dinner!  :) 

We still have to vent the hood to the outside, so pictures aren't complete-but pretty close...Enjoy....now where is that gelato...

That little pipe/piece above the hood will be covered here soon.  And instead of doing an inset above the stove with coordinating tiles, we decided to do wall art so we could change it out when needed.  The fork, spoon, knife is a little inside joke for us...anyone who used to watch "Everybody Loves Raymond" might get it!  :)

Rainforest Walk

We had an awesome rainforest walk during one of our vacation days.  We hiked for about 3 hours and it was pretty neat.  The views were amazing and of course I just kept reminding myself that hiking would be over soon and I could hit the beach.  (Really-my idea of being an "outdoorsy" girl is drinking wine, outside on my patio...)

So we hiked up to this amazing mountain and truly the views were awesome....(This is at Golden Rock)

And guess what-this "outdoorsy" girl fell...hard... Yep, can you imagine that?  I slipped and fell. Only one out of four of us....did I tell you my middle name is not Grace??  :)
