Was supposed to have house guests...instead I updated my house

My mom, grandpa and dad were supposed to visit this weekend. Sadly my dad got sick with a kidney stone. I decided to hide my disappointment with retail therapy. Instead I got sticker shock at the end of the weekend......the cheapest purchase I made this weekend was for supplies to paint my second bedroom. Straight stripes are not my specialty. Thank GOD Chad was around this weekend or else, it might have been waves in the second room and not stripes.

Real Housewives of NYC-Reunion

This show is seriously like heroin for me. I can not get enough. I wake up the day after the show and immediately log onto their blogs. If they haven't blogged, I get annoyed. Hollywood couldn't write this "Sheeeeet" any better than these women. And each week your favorite wife changes-it is just amazing how these women can HATE each other one second and then turn around and love each other. It baffles my brain. I thought the OC women were mean, they ain't got nothing on a New Yorker. HARD CORE.

Now about the NJ women-uh, I'll have to get back to you on that one. Not too sure about these chics. They might be too dirty for even me. At least the NYC girls have class-these broads-well let's just say the jury is out. :)

Sammie's Wedding

What a beautiful wedding Sammie had on Saturday, May 9th. The weather was GORGEOUS. (Ok a little warm-but not a cloud in the sky) She looked stunning in her dress and the sash she added was such a great touch. In fact, she bought us all these beautiful brooches (sp?) to add to our dresses too. She's such a fashionista. I need her to dress me! :) Anyways, she couldn't have married a greater guy. Rob is so good to her and they are a perfect match. They both compliment each other so nicely. We had an absolute blast at their reception. I had just enough wine that I loosened up to dance, but not so much that I made a fool out of myself either! :) (However, that does not mean that I can dance-I just didn't look too stupid out there).

Habitat for Humanity-Women Build Day

On Monday, May 8th, I participated in Women Build Day for Habitat for Humanity. What an awesome day that was. About 12 of us from KIGR helped build a home for the Ramierz family and it was an honor to be there. I thought we would be painting, but no-we were outside building the framework of the house. Hope and I learned how to use a saws-all and a chop saw. We cut out the windows and doors of their home. (God I hope their windows don't leak!) Bunny was a pro on the nailing side. (I am not such a good hammer person!) We had a great day and by the time it was over, I was covered in sawdust from head to toe. After our day, we all met at a bbq joint and had a well deserved beer. It never tasted so good!

Hammond Million Dollar Challenge

So Don issued me a photography challenge. Kind of new at this picture taking thing, but it is fun. Chad and I went to Magnolia Plantation/Gardens today and I took over 200 pictures. I might not know what I am doing when it comes to F-Stop etc, but I know how to zoom and press the button. Most pics were ok, but some came out pretty decent! Enjoy.

Happy Easter Part II

Thought this was a great picture of Chad & I. Forgot to post it with my first post. :)

Happy Easter!

What a beautiful day in Charleston! Chad was sweet and made me breakfast in bed. He's so good to me. After a quick breakfast it was off to early church. I really enjoyed the sermon today. The music was great as was the message. In fact I got the chills a few times. It was that good. At one point, my deceased grandmother ,Genevieve, popped into my head and then I kid you not, a second after that happened, the Pastor said, "We want to congratulate such and such on the birth of their new baby girl, Genevieve." That's not really a common name, paired with the idea I was just thinking of her, hence chill moment number 1.

After church we ran back home, grabbed the puppies, changed our clothes and headed over to the Hammond's for lunch. It was delish! And we ate like it was our last supper. :) After lunch we all played Wii. It is so fun watching Chad's dad giggle playing Mario Cart. With the exception of Mario Cart Pro Chad, we all stink at it! We fall off the board, get run over by other players and basically come in dead last each time. Oh well!

So what's a Sunday Funday without a NAP? That's exactly what I did after we got home. Cuz you know, just ate a big lunch, now let's go sleep and really burn those calories! Finishing off the day watching the Masters. What happened to you Phil?

Enjoy the pictures of some of my spring flowers. We are quite proud of them. Planted over 30 dafodils and only one has bloomed so far...Oh well. Happy Easter to all.

Zumba

Jacquie and I did Zumba at the gym today. Let me just say that this white girl was not made to Zumba in any way shape or form. I think I spent most of the class laughing at myself. Zumba is a latin dance inspired work out. I got enough to shake-just can't figure out how you shake it!! I will never again make fun of anyone on Dancing with the Stars. :)
